The Migrant Program is part of Title I (Part C), a federally funded grant program that provides academic and supportive services to children of families who migrate to find work in agricultural and fishing industries. The program is designed to help migrant children who are uniquely affected by the combined effects of poverty, language and cultural barriers, and the migratory lifestyle, to meet the same challenging academic content and student achievement standards that is expected of all students. The goal of the Migrant Education Program is to ensure that all migrant students reach challenging academic standards and graduate with a high school diploma (or GED) that prepares them for responsible citizenship, further learning and productive employment.
